Catherine Fieschi is Counterpoint’s Director. A leading European politics expert, her main focus is on populism and contemporary forms of mobilisation. In 2011 Catherine founded Counterpoint with the aim of providing businesses, governments and NGOs with strategic insights on how to manage new forms of social and political risk and their effects on global politics and markets.
Victoria Baumgartner manages the smooth running of the administration for Counterpoint, supporting the Directors as well as our diverse project administration work.
Sabin has held numerous positions of leadership within civil society, local authority and Government and is currently on a secondment from the Home Office working to advance global policy and analysis. She leads Counterpoint’s research and policy programme on the social dynamics of resilience and security in times of uncertainty.
Rachel Coldicutt is an expert on the social impact of new and emerging technologies. She works with Counterpoint on an array of projects related to digital, memes, and tech for good.
Joël works with Counterpoint on various aspects of populist mobilisation and politics. A specialist in electoral behaviour, he is a regular contributor to our electoral study projects.
Sabine Selchow contributes to our work on globalism, globalisation and risk. She is a Research Fellow in the ARC-Laureate Program in International History at the University of Sydney, where she is in charge of the 'Planetary Pasts and Futures' - research
Our Associate Marion Sevrin is a regular contributor to our work on urban planing and social cohesion. With a background in Urban Affairs, Marion focusses on a range of issues (such as immigration, employment and citizen participation) faced by public policy actors in contemporary urban settings.

Erik Jones is Professor of European Studies and International Political Economy at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University.
Tom Burke is Chairman and Founding Director of E3G (Third Generation Environmentalism).
Stephan Roman has had a long and distinguished career at the World Bank and then at the British Council. His last post was as regional director for South Asia. He has worked in the Middle East, Africa, South-East Asia and the Balkans. He has written extensively on issues of cultural relations.
Alex Simmons is a Senior Director at Edelman UK, where he leads Smithfield’s European Capital Markets team.
It is with great sadness that we lost our precious Tuija Talvitie in January 2020 after her long battle with cancer. We will miss her terribly. And we hold this space for her, as we will hold her, in our Counterpoint heart.
